HYPOCYTE
HYPOCYTE
How else can you refer to a political leader? ‘Hypocryte’ by Hustlajay, Blackfella and N.J.E. was released last night. They are certain that the young better leaders are taking over.
The video was produced by Munga Junior and the audio done at Ufuoni Records, Mombasa.
Jared Ombui interviewed Hustlajay.
You now have a new video called ‘Hypocryte’ that you feature Blackfella and NJE Producer. Why that title?
‘Hypocryte’ is all about the system and leaders. They keep on oppressing the poor and the innocent. They are not afraid to promise even after failing to fulfill the previous ones.
We chant dem out for their wicked souls out of the parliament. It has been long enough and our souls are tired we need new leaders fresh ones who have felt the oppression and through them transparency can be attained.
Do you in anyway, give suggestions on how they can execute these promises?
Executing them is by being transparent to common man not self benefits and exercising equal distribution of resources. For example, the Community Development Fund (CDF), settle the internally displaced persons, work on the infrastructure, end tribalism and nepotism.
Recently, we have seen the youths from the coastal strip through the Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) blaming the government for the underdevelopment in the region and make calls to secede. Does this song add a voice to the reality on the ground?
Am looking the African continent at large where development is an urgent aspect that leaders must fast-track. But this is only possible with unity of Africans.
The MRC is not following right channels because of the militia traits that are evident. Causing violence does not bring forth a clean picture and disastrous. Anyway, we have to rethink on how to improve the lives of the youth allover Kenya and Africa. How can we end unemployment and drinking brew as the only activity amongst the youth?
What is the role of the general public in development in coastal strip?
I see the public as the main stakeholders, and we need more channels to involve them in every activity. I am certain that they want to see positive change.
What were the challenges coming up with this video?
First, hiring the shooting equipments, transport expenses and paying for the sceneries and a great video like this is quite expensive. But sacrifice is the only yard our goal that is to pass the message fully to society.
This is your 3rd video, and I am sure the 4th one isn’t far. How do you intend to go around the challenges that you have stated?
I am not counting challenges but my real dream is to teach liberate my people I want to see Africa change. I want a better future for the next generation. I want the legacy of writing to reach generations and I will be remembered for my revolution. Challenges are with us, and I doubt they will be no more.
