Introduction:-

Organization for Peace and Development (OPD) is an independent, non-profit, non-political, non-governmental organization registered with the Govt. To bring harmony among all sects and creeds for the sake of human values, and to raise voice for the rights of women and children to work for the development of marginalized communities.

Rational:-

Christians are the largest minority in Pakistan. They live in all parts of the country. Majority of the Christian community live in villages and are illiterate. Even in the cities about 0.5% literate. They do not have good jobs due to illiteracy; therefore, they are facing constant financial crises. Majority of the people involve their children in early ages to support their parents to meet the necessities of life. So most of the children do not enjoy there child hood, schooling, playing games etc. They are compelled to work with their parents to meet the daily needs of life.

Life is becoming harder and harder in Pakistan for everyone in general and specifically for labourers and daily wagers. Prices of the edible goods and commodities are rising up and up while the daily wages are not enough to meet the necessities of life. It is not easy for one person to feed rest of his or her family members (children and old persons).

To promote a healthy and peaceful environment OPD feels that at local and international level it is necessary to support and strengthen the underprivilleged.

Children of Christian commnity have not enough resources and opportunity to go to school and get formal or non formal education. And the current situation and every day rising in prices of daily use commodities creating more and problems for the people who are leading their lives on daily wages.

OPD encourages those students who are getting education against the will of their families and time to time they motivate parents through Schools activites like parents day and other social gatherings to support their children; so that they may able to lead and live respectful lives.

We are very thankful to all those who are supporting the vision of Organization for Peace and Development

(OPD) in any shape since its inception.

We have planned to arrange Share the Joy programme at Easter and Christmas This year we have targeted 200 students from our targeted schools/ working areas. We request you all to give us hand to enable the underprivillaged, orphan and needy students to continue their formal education. Share the Joy program is to encourage the students and their families to let them become a usefull citizen of the world who may further develop and support his or her family to lead a prosperous and respectfull life. We wish that these children may become a becon of hope, love, peace and joy for the serenty and unity of the world.

Objective:-

• To provide financial and material support to orphan and needy children of the targeted schools; which are getting education even worst financial conditions/crises.

• To support the orphan and needy children to continue their formal education to save their future as well as bring a prosperous and peaceful change at family and community level.

• To aware, sensitized and empower young children about the role of education for respected and prosperous life.

• To enable orphan and needy children to celebrate the joys of Christmas like other children of the areas.
