LocalABC4All / SOMALILAND-SOMALIA:

A Review of the Event

An Open Letter to all participants in the Local ABC4All in Somalia / Somaliland
and to Honorable Mr. Hassan Awale:

It is such a joy to learn about the All Day Event for the First Local ABC4All in the world. The organizers and participants clearly have sent a message for the world that bringing people together to work towards a better community for all can take place anywhere.

The fact that Mr. Hassan Awale not only announces the awarding of scholarships for 22 youth in the community, but that the same number of scholarships will be made available in years to come, creates an enormous tribute to the success of this local effort. Thank you to all concerned!

Now we learn that another scholarship will be awarded as well, as revealed in this message from Coordinator Fosia Eidle:

"This is part of working as one, harmonizing our efforts and working together for creating ABC4All. Let me say thanks to Femi. I will be able to coordinate with him. I am requesting that you put his note in the LocalABC4All site so that we can see that we created unity of diversity from a distance. I hope that one day we will be able to come together and celebrate our unity."

Here is Femi's note:

Dear Burt,

This is a great movement I must say, a movement towards realisation of our common goal(s), a movement towards a better community for all, and UNITY IN DIVERSITY.

Diligence and persistence will take us all there!

ABC4All/YFCI/YOMI/ABC4AllYOUTH, and other change movements alike are creating more listening ears around the globe!

Another scholarship from me awaits one more Somalian youth. I hope to get in touch with their coordinator and make a remittance.

Burt! thanks so much for this write up, it will be posted on YOMI website, and with your due permission, the event at Somalia will be posted on the web as well.

Speak soon.

Such developments, both the event itself and all of the aspects of the event - creating and developing the idea, then planning the event and finally making the event available in the community - and now the additional "distance" scholarship - create a focus around which so many in the community were able, then, to come together and benefit in so many ways, as well described by Muna Ali. So we thank all concerned for such developments and insert the photo here taken from the TIG site for the benefit of all who read about the amazing and constructive event in Somalia / Somaliland - "Community Empowerment Through Local ABC4All."

Sincerely,

Burton Danet, Ph.D.,
Co-Founder, ABC4All

Highly Inspired Event for Local ABC4All in Somalia
Yes Dear TIG group,

Thank you for reminding me to write about my feelings and brief information about how the event have gone through. I was one of the co-initiators for this event. We made it possible, and it motivated us. We launched "Community Empowerment for Local ABC4All," one of the Hargeisa IDP'S camp.

It's a great pleasure to share with you my feelings and what I have gained from the event. Where some of the honorable local authorities from Parliament, CSO representatives, Community leaders and youth - all attended and every one of those Honorable groups was given to say something about Community empowerment and developing ABC4All for a positive change, which will help enable them to develop new strategies for ABC4All intervention within their Community. Since state House IDP camp is where 4500 poor extended families live, who need a lot of intervention and support.
One memorable thing that we all appreciated was that Mr. Hassan Awale, who is member of Parliament and the owner of a big school near state house, he declared that he offered 22 children and youth free education in his school, and he promised that he will offer every year this number of 22 free scholarships, which touched us all in the local ABC4All group and the rest of the community who participated in the event.

In conclusion the event ended up with good sessions and drama that were organized and presented by Statehouse Youth Development Organization (SHAYDO). The drama was useful and delivering different messages to the community. And it will encourage us and the community to continue ABC4All campaigns within needy sites who need advocacy and lobbying for their needs. We in the local ABC4All group will continue our effort, and we will be nationalized for sharing with others our experience that we gained in this campaign, so as to reach A Better Community for All and to contribute to the ABC4All Vision.
All this is behind our Dear Burt, Co-Founder of ABC4All who encouraged us to conduct this campaign after we had consultations on initiating our idea, and Mrs. Eidle Fosia, our national focal point who initiated this idea and shared with us a team.

I'm here after appreciating Dr. Burt the good job he is doing and such a real role model and persuasive person who is supportive and who gives people constructive ideas that encourages them to initiate good ideas. Those will contribute to the ABC4All vision and movement as One World and working in Unity as ABC4All - this will change a lot for all over the whole world.

I would like to thank Dear Burt and my Dearest local ABC4All team.

Yours sincerely,
SOLVOY BOD Treasurer.
