Dear Friends of the SolarVillage,
We greet you warmly from Tamera in autumn. We are entering a busy autumn season and to be able to realize our dreams we still need the financial means or donations in kind. With this mail we want to present you our current situation.
After a successful garden season, and after having finished another retention space in our southern valley as one more element in the developing water landscape, our intention now is to continue the development of the edible landscape.
We give a heartfelt thanks to all those who have helped so far and all those who are going to support this project!

We are planning an initial planting of the new “South Lake” with fruit trees and berry bushes, additional planting of fruit trees in the existing gardens, the ongoing expansion of our fruit tree nursery as well as the movement of old, established olive trees from too wet to more suitable areas.
Fruit Trees and Berry Bushes (for the creation of the edible landscape):
- further planting at Lake I, Valley Garden and Testfield € 3,570
- ongoing expansion of fruit tree nursery € 5,000
- initial planting at the “South Lake” € 7,150
- Moving old olive trees € 1,150
Total € 16,870
With these new “beings”, Tamera´s self-sufficiency and biodiversity will take one big step forward – we give deep thanks in advance for this progress!
A healthy landscape of course includes a healthy forest – the growing water-landscape now offers the preconditions to start establishing a forest through agro-forestry in the coming winter.
Forest establishment by agro-forestry:
- fruit planting in the forest above the Valley Garden € 2,850
- forest establishment in the southern valley, fruit trees and berry bushes € 4,300
- machine (excavator etc.) hours € 1,450
- seeds for soil-enriching plants
and for fruit-bearing woods, mulch, irrigation € 1,450
Total € 10,050
Reproduction of a variety of water plants, whose use and beauty are important for the development of our biotopes.
Natural stone basin water plant nursery € 8,600
Total investment autumn 2010 € 35,520
