Last weekend i-genius' Tommy Hutchinson and Barry Crisp travelled to the majestic Lake District, Cumbria, for a 'business meeting' weekend with our wonderful host and i-genius member, Tony Bradley. The main purpose of the weekend was to scope out the separate, but integrated future 'online learning channel', which quite simply is going to blow your social entrepreneural mind and catapult you into ethical and innovative business adventures.

Naturally, the weekend wasn't all business... stunning lakes, mountains, rain, clouds galore, politics and interfaith dialogue (just can't be escaped), jazz, wine, delicious food, stimulating conversation, stars, long walks into wild bushes and along the beach, the glorious moonlight, memoirs of Alfred Wainwright, and true Peter Rabbit scenery. Like I said, we just don't do things normally here at i-genius!

OBSERVATION:
Look how many responded simply by saying “the link does not work.”

Why need the link to work?

A search with the key words on the site turned up the course from which it was possible to “lift” each item and insert into the text box and then respond.

LESSON:
Never let an obstacle win out. YOU have the power to be INDEPENDENT.

1.  A 21st Century Visionary practices integrity at a soul level.

A Better Community For All (ABC4All) has never been done before and represents a new entity for the world.  The concepts / principles of ABC4All encourage the highest levels of integrity achievable by anyone receptive.

2. A 21st Century Visionary is comfortable with uncertainty.

One never knows how people will respond to info that is put out on the Internet.  With that uncertainty, it turns out that the response has been impressive in terms of how people take the concepts, make them their own, and then proceed to create ways to help their local community become better for all.

3. A 21st Century Visionary knows the secret to enlightenment is to relax.

This was created in response to Lynne Taggert's work and is helping people grieving for lost loved ones, focus on a child whose life was threatened from a serious sporta accident (he recovered from a coma) etc.  IM is used to focus on SAFETY in travel.  It can be used if someone loses a pet, etc.  It helps with, and focuses on, many ways to relax as in the classic book by Herbert Benson, M.D., "The Relaxation Response."

4. A 21st Century Visionary practices "getting empty" in order to hear the voice and/or feel the presence of the Divine.

Opening up to what is possible - serendipity - has been a focus.  In order to experience such phenomena, one has to get rid of any preconceived notions, influences, etc.  Never allow yourself to be brainwashed, and keep open your options and perogatives.  Such an "empty" state avoids your taking on blinders, even unknowingly.

5. A 21st Century Visionary often acts just on faith.

For 12.5 years Bob Chew and I have worked together to create ABC4All, both of us having sheer faith that we had the power to bring about change for the better in the world even without a dime of funding.
 
6. A 21st Century Visionary can consciously drop into a deeper place of knowing and can ideate/dream and speak from this place.

Mostly ABC4All has been created in a dream or sleep state.  Upon awakening, like a robot, I go to the computer and simply type out what I have been "told" to do.

7. A 21st Century Visionary is receptive and knows that "give and take" is not the same as "give and receive."

Mentors learn from one another.  There is no leader here.  We all have equal ability to share ideas and to implement them.  Bob's words:  "Never let the lack of anything get in the way of what is possible."

8. A 21st Century Visionary is aware that miracles happen in their own time.

The phenomena of serendipity have been making themselves felt over and over again.  Eventually, it became possible to stop asking questions and just go with the flow.  The ultimate conclusion?  The Miracle of The Campaign for Global Humanitarian Relief (GHR).

9. A 21st Century Visionary knows that we were created to create. 

Healing Creativity is a major focus of ABC4All.  Allowing for the creative expression in whatever form it may take becomes a key way for people to relate to one another.  "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" was an eye-opener and showed that even if you THINK you have little or no artistic drawing talent, you DO and CAN draw in a way you never even imagined you could do.  Apply these concepts to any area of living and you have great HOPE! 

10. A 21st Century Visionary has a conscious relationship with the silent witness, the part of each of us that can see many points of view and new perspectives.

Back to the notion to never allow yourself to be brainwashed.  That puts blinders on you and ends up with you seeing what you think you should be seeing.  Instead, keep all options open and let the flow of possibility reign.

11.  A 21st Century Visionary knows when to be collaborative and when to be hierarchical.

Actually there is NO hierarchy in ABC4All.  It does not matter who is involved, who administers it, etc.  A virtual entity it is there, doing its good work in the world, establishing its Legacy into Perpetuity and will be available for anyone receptive to participate.  This is TRUE COLLABORATION AND COOPERATION WITHOUT THE NEED FOR HIERARCHY.  We are all ONE.

12. A 21st Century Visionary is crucial to the Dream Movement's ultimate dream, which is to make the world a more whole and abundant place.

The CELEBRATION OF ONENESS Movement has been taking hold (in the case of ABC4All).  There are thousands of groups like this across the world creating TheShift.  In ABC4All's way, it is a 2-step "dance," and includes both facts and possibilities.

MESSAGE FOR 100-DAY COUNTDOWN TO INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

13 JUNE 2010

One hundred days from today, the world will markthe International Day of Peace - a day on which armed conflict is meant to be stilled… a day on which we appeal to combatants to observe a ceasefire…a day on which we reaffirm commitment to non-violence and the peaceful resolution of disputes.

This year's observance, which takes place on 21 September, focuses on youth and development, under the slogan: "Peace = Future."

Young people already play a crucial role in working for peace.Yet I know they can do even more. So this International Day comes with a challenge for young people everywhere: Expand on your work to build peace.  Share your plans and ideas, with creativity and passion. The world'sconcerns will soon be in your hands.

This year, the International Day of Peace coincides with the Summit I am convening to boost progress towards the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Achieving the goals is essential for ending armed conflict and building sustainable peace. I hope
the voices of young people will be heard at the Summit and in the run-up to it.

Over the next 100 days, I urge young people to plan projects that can help create the conditions for peace in their communities, in their schools, in their countries.  We need your voice and commitment, and we will share your stories with the world.

As we start the countdown to the International Day of Peace, we recognize two truths: Only in a peaceful environment will young people realize their full potential - and youngpeople have the potential to start building that peaceful world today.

I am having a great time discovering & learning all the nuances of my Canon Rebel T1i. My main interest is wildlife and nature photography, but I will also focus my attention on most any subject that moves me. In addition, I do enjoy manipulating images with Photoshop. The present Apple ABC4All computer in use has had no such problems.  Their service people explained how to be invisible on the internet.  Since then there have been no problems at all. 

The first thing done was to transfer all the files on the ABC4All Server onto the Apple computer to ensure safety from hackers and viruses, this took days of work.

Then ABC4All was introduced by Dr. David Randle of http://globalhealing.net (ABC4All is an affiliate) to the TrUnity platform which was new, next-generation and did not require HTML, so it was not vulnerable to hacking and viruses.  To date the Network of ABC4All sites on TrUnity remain FREE of any kind of hacking or viruses.

Thus ABC4All offers FREE websites via TrUnity.

The best thing to do is follow a few guidelines:

1.  Do not open any attachment or link from someone you do not know.

2.  Do not use "cc" only "bcc" or blind cc to protect email addresses.

3.  If anything is suspicious or even if not suspicious, you can check with a search at www.snopes.com

4.  Have Anti-Virus program protecting your computer wherever possible.

5.  Anyone who is using a windows-driven computer can check with www.snopes.com to see if something has already been reported.

6.  Do a search on the Internet for "Internet Safety" or protecting children for more sites/ways to be alert and protect yourself and those with whom you communicate via the Internet.

Part of what we need to do is protect ourselves and others from the dangers on the Internet.  Therefore this post being shared with all ABC4All mentors.

We are learning all the time about what to do and what not to do.

The Renowned Singer Songwriter Is Offering An E-Version of her Award Winning Interactive Songwriting Book Free To Subscribers Of her YouTube Channel  

      With a catalog of over a thousand songs, a dynamic history of hundreds of live performances and industry-wide raves from Sheryl Crow, rock god Billy Sheehan and Nancy Cartwright (aka the voice of Bart Simpson), it might seem hard to pinpoint a single moment that captures the deep emotional impact that singer, songwriter and all around musical Renaissance woman Deedee O’Malley has on her audience.

      Elfman got a hold of her emotions long enough to simply say, “Deedee’s voice is amazing”—a sentiment that echoes Crow’s reaction to the singer’s performance of “My World” and “Enough Is Enough,” which she wrote for an industry gathering dedicated to drawing attention to atrocities in the Congo:  “Wow, those are two of the most amazing songs!” Also on hand at that event was Jesse Dylan, Bob’s son and the creator of the Obama campaign song “Yes We Can,” who added, “Fabulous songs.”

      “There is a certain magic that happens when a singer conveys the honesty of a song and people connect with that reality,” says Deedee. “A great song is one that everyone can relate to, one that brings people together, whether they’re laughing, smiling or crying. Everyone loves a great story. Since I was a kid, all I wanted to do was make people smile. And since I wrote my first song at 13, I knew that I wanted to make music that would wake people up and make them laugh, smile and think.”

      Thousands of people of all ages in her adopted home region of Southern California have seen her perform at L.A. hotspots like The Whiskey and Genghis Cohen, on recent tours sponsored by Starbucks and Borders and at hundreds of junior high and high schools. Deedee was also chosen over 30 other composers to write the commercial jingle for the popular Moxie Girlz line of dolls; her jangling song “Moxie Girl” is heard approximately every 15 minutes on Saturday morning TV. While a young girl is singing that jingle, Deedee’s been the featured vocalist on others for everything from Heinz Ketchup to Avis Rent A Car, Toshiba, IBM and Frisbee.

      While Deedee’s songs are heard via many different mediums, she’s a true record company’s dream because she is also a dedicated artist who insists on recording all her own material rather than have it be covered by other artists. Her first album Simple was chosen the #1 Indie CD of the Year by Music Connection Magazine. In addition to her two Lennon songwriting contest wins, she received the Los Angeles Music Awards Singer/Songwriter of the Year for her second album Beautiful L.A., which received a perfect 10 from the judges and won the Sarah McLachlan Lilith Fair Contest sponsored by Star 98.7. 

      Russ Regan, the music industry icon credited with discovering and “opening doors” for everyone from Elton John and Barry White to Neil Diamond and The Beach Boys, is one of Dee Dee’s biggest fans and summed up her inimitable skills best: “There is no one better who can write a lyric so easy to remember and a melody so hard to forget.” Deedee recently formed a unique partnership with Regan and The Hitt Music Group Record Company to create the “U Songwriter U” Contest, an online competition to find the best singer/songwriter in the world, American Idol style. She’s also been chosen as a finalist for the American Coffeehouse reality TV show, which is produced by Survivor creator and reality TV wizard Mark Burnett.

      It’s hard to believe Deedee has any spare time to engage in outside endeavors, but her creativity now extends to her own line of Rock N’ Roll earrings.

      “I have a wonderful career that allows me to use my abilities to do so many different things that touch people’s lives in a positive way,” she says. “All of it takes me back to when I was a kid and would steal a dollar from my parents to go to the store and buy the latest record and play it till it was scratched. I knew I wanted to grow up someday and write songs that would inspire people to do that too! People often ask me what makes a great song and I like to say, there are a lot of singers that sing great and a lot of writers who can write great, but not a lot of people who can tell the truth. And that is what really matters in writing a song that will endure—honesty.

“The truth is what matters,” she adds, “writing something so true that it pierces through everything—the heart, time and space. What’s most important to me as an artist is to get my music out there and touch people with the messages of my songs. I have spent my entire life working on my craft, perfecting my voice and entertaining audiences, and it is both my privilege and responsibility to keep sharing the gift of music with the world.”

LW:  I am very privileged and very honored that Sarah Ehrlich is taking time away from her terrific life-saving and support work to talk to the Lisa Wexler Show from Haiti.  Welcome to the show Sarah! 

SE:  Thanks very much, Lisa. 

LW:  So tell us where you are and what it looks like.

SE:  OK. Well actually it is not so exciting where I am right this second.  I am in a store, luckily, in the Dominican Republic, and I just left Port-au-Prince last night.  You know there is just a lot of chaos and a lot of fantastic organizations that are trying to put order in, and there are no supplies available.  So we came over to DR last night, and we're just loading up on supplies so we can take them back.  It's really sad, but you have to do what you have to do.  We're taking it back to one orphanage where there are 200 kids.  We already started building them a school.  We're working with the World Food Program to get out food to about 4,200 children.  So we teamed up with them, which is not the easiest thing in the world, because there's a lot going on, and those people have a lot on their plate.  I'm really happy that we met great people and that we are able to help the best that we can in doing that. 

There are a lot of horrifying things, but I'd say that the most horrifying is going into the hospitals.  I know a lot of people have seen them on TV.  There are some hospitals that you don't see on TV, at least that I know of. One, for instance, we were at the other day.  There was literally a funeral director, a dentist and a nurse in the hospital.  There was a guy who had internal bleeding and he was vomiting, and there was just no one around to help him.  I mean they are really, really short-handed down there. 

My focus really is orphans.  There are even orphans in the hospital.  It's just really sad.  Actually being at the orphanage, the kids are so sweet.  They run up to you.  They hug you.  Yes, we have my favorites.  There's this one boy.  He is blind in one eye.  He will just not leave my leg the whole time we are there walking around.  There are just wonderful children there.  Our orphanage is really close to the Port-au-Prince Airport, and it's really not that dangerous.  When you go into the airport, it can seem a little scary.  It's unbelievable. There's absolutely no customs there at all.  There's none.  The building is all cracked up.  They just actually started trying to have customs. 

Anyway, so basically what we are doing right now is we're just getting lots and lots of supplies because there is nothing there.

LW:  Nothing there.  Even with SE's helpfororphans.org.  We are hearing that millions and tons of supplies are going there, but when you are on the ground, it just seems like a drop in the bucket?  Is that what you are saying?

SE:  Well, it's mostly about organization. I got really friendly because we have 2 airplanes down there that are taking supplies.  Jonathan Nash and Glen who you spoke to last time I called in, and also another pilot, Charlie, and they are taking the planes back and forth with narcotics and different hospital supplies.  It's really unbelievable.  Yesterday I flew to Jacmel in the morning, and I'm just holding extremely heavy narcotics, and the doctor, all he could say was, please just make sure they get into the right hands.  Of course, I did.  A doctor met us on the ground in Jacmel.  Jonathan was continuing.  He did about 4-5 trips yesterday doing the same thing.  He has basically been focusing on medical. 

It's really something else.  A lot of work needs to be done.  It's not going to get the correct media attention that it needs for maybe 2 weeks, I'm sure.  They need a lot of help down there, so bad.  Again, my focus is orphans, and our website is helpfororphans.org, and it's all spelled out, but I really see that the thing they need most is doctors.  It's really, really needed.  You walk through the hospitals, and you just hear the people screaming.  A lot of times it's children.  It's a tragedy.

LW:  It's heart-breaking.  I remember when I would go down to DR, to Esperanza which is near the Haitian border, you instantly just fall in love with the children, because the children are innocent, and they are so loving, and there is no barriers, they are not shy, nothing, and if they are shy, they are adorable and sweet and shy.  It's so easy to have your heart broken, Sarah.  It must be difficult for you not to take at least one or two home. 

SE:  Well I'll tell you.  WIth everything that's happening in the media right now, I just think the kids ought to stay exactly where they are.  Honestly, from what I see and understand there, there are some children who are at the orphanage who do have parents.  But their parents basically abandoned them when they can't take care of them.  It's way too early to take kids out of that country.  You see them, and you just want to help.

LW:  Right.

SE:  And I can understand in a partial way why that lady would go and try to take kids out of the country.  The bottom line is I don't speak French.  I don't know that the kids are screaming out that they want their moms and dads.  They're reacting to their emotions, and I think we need people who will analyze the situation. Not people who are emotionless either. 

LW:  How can people help / donate to your organization?

SE:  We want to keep the children there.  There are so many people out of work.  What we're working on right now is we're building schools.  UNICEF is handling water.  World Food Program is handling food in any possible way that they can.  Everybody can do their part.  Right now our focus is schools and getting the kids back on a schedule.  Right now we're just buying tons of uniforms, as many as we can fit in the large vans and supplies.  We want to build.  So if anybody can help us, financially, volunteering, but anybody can make a donation at our website.  100% of the money goes right to Haiti.  We are working with a wonderful group down there, and we are just building. As much money as we get in we can put many Haitians to work.  They want to work.  It's sad.  People are even coming up to us and asking if they can just volunteer.  They want to help.  Even if you can just give them a meal.  So the key thing is just to start rebuilding and get the kids back in school.  So that is my mission anyway, and I think that is the most effect thing we can do right now.

Art in All of Us: Sharing art with the world

Art in All of Us is one of those very special programs that not only has high ideals, but is also actively working towards achieving them. Founded in 2005 in Belgium by photographers Anthony Asael and Stephanie Rabemiafara, the not-for-profit organization focuses on promoting tolerance through the exchange of artistic and cultural activities with children. Now with an office in New York, as well as Brussels, the organization operates in all 192 U.N. member countries.

While using art, which in this case includes drawing, poetry, and photography, as a communications tool to promote tolerance sounds like a great idea, Asael and Rabemiafara went to great efforts to ensure that their program was actually making an impact. Over the past four years they have visited all 192 countries, interacting with 320 schools in the process, and directly reaching 18,400 students. Those young people have in turn created more than 18,000 pieces of art and inspired over 160,000 photographs.

Now, the two founders have published a book that showcase the world seen through the Eyes and Rhymes of the children. Each of the 192 countries is presented through their best photographs and children artwork, and poems.

Art in All of Us works closely with UNICEF, SOS Children Village, and other organizations that promote multi-cultural understanding across borders. They continue to expands their activities through the help of a dedicated staff of volunteers, who work hard to promote their tolerance through art message.

Happy New Year once more. Just thought I should share this video of Njodzeka Noel Bahtinyuy, our second boy who saw the sun on the 27th of December 2009. This video was shot yesterday January 3rd exactly one week old.

I included some videos of our mothers in the village dancing after receiving the new born baby's news and some other kids in Nkuv playing near their new water stand tap, which was implemented by our NGO Life and Water Development Group - Cameroon and Engineers Without Borders Chapter of Hope College, Michigan - USA. This is a combined project with Thirst Relief International - USA that's serving the lives of people in Nkuv community just like in many other communities of Cameroon and schools.

EWB-Hope College and LWDG-Cameroon implemented  the piping system with 10 stand taps and Thirst Relief International - USA and LWDG-Cameroon constructed so far 188 biosand filters for the people of Nkuv, filter construction is an ongoing project. The biosand filters help the families to filter their water from the stand taps.

NRN Song for Nepalese Worldwide

Spreading PEACE for the world from the rising sun atop Mt. Everest offers a symbol of what is possible. 

While Mt. Everest is in Nepal, as the highest mountain top one can visualize climbing to the top and from there reaching out to the world with Global Humanitarian Relief (GHR) for ALL who will participate with ABC4All Portal4Relief!

Recently, Prem Guragain, from the Los Angeles area, created the lyrics to a special song / video containing this concept (see credits below).  As part of such a symbolic universal message, both Mt. Everest and Nepal become symbols of PEACE in the world.

With advanced technologies available, Global Humanitarian Relief (GHR) for the world is coming, with ABC4All all the while raising funds with 100% of any contributions going to certified/validated worthwhile causes.
